Overboss is an all-new game featuring the retro villains of Boss Monster! Emerge from your dungeon to conquer the overworld in this game of tile drafting, map building, and set collection. Up to five players compete to build the map with the greatest Power. You can fill your world with spreading swamps, spooky graveyards, dense forests, dark caves, and orc encampments.
Aspiring Overbosses must be crafty as well as fierce: each terrain type is scored differently, and your monsters must be arranged strategically to maximize their value. In Classic mode it’s easy to learn and teach, while Advanced modes give it depth and replayability! Designed by Aaron Mesburne and Kevin Russ (Calico), it’s a devious tile laying adventure for gamers of all skill levels.
Villainy Made Easy
The basic rules of Overboss are very simple: each turn, you draft one tile-and-token pair to place on your map. It’s a perfect game for introducing videogame fans or non-gamers to tabletop gaming because it’s so accessible! But after a couple of plays, you’ll realize just how much skill it takes to optimize terrain tile placement, lines of monsters, and set collection… all while drafting in a way that thwarts your opponents.
Take It To the Next Level
Once you’ve mastered Classic mode, you can layer in new gameplay options. The Big Board makes the game longer and adds more depth to the strategy. Boss cards give each player a once-per-game power and bonus scoring objective. Command cards introduce diabolical cross-table play. There’s even a Solo campaign with unlockable achievements!
